WHEN IT ALL BEGAN

Royal Tanis isn’t only a voice of hope and guidance for youth and many generations, but his nature breathes love, generosity, and compassion for all. Ever since Royal was a little boy, he had a heart to serve. Royal’s first outreach started out by him being a curious 5 year old. On his way home, during a warm and breezy summer night. 

While walking away from the Coney Island boardwalk, Royal encountered his first sight of a homeless person. He tugged on the side of his Godmother’s shirt, asking her, “Why is this person sitting there, mommy?” She explained why, and then Royal felt compelled to give.

 As he and his family were slowly getting closer to the homeless person, he checked to see if had money in his pocket. Reversing his tiny white pocket inside out, he found nothing in them but small cotton balls. He asked his Godmother for a quarter. She stopped and handed it to him with a smile on her face.

Royal approached the homeless person, dropping the quarter in the cup. Although Royal went to an amusement park that night, giving to that person was the highlight of his day.He was filled with so much joy because he gave.

Today, Royal’s upbringing has a lot to do with why he loves to give. Royal has given his all to serve others, especially young people and those without a home. Tanis calls himself a philanthropist, although his finances contradict what he proclaims by faith. Royal has facilitated many outreach events and he is nowhere near done! His goal is to spread the love of God and end world hunger.
